The St. Stephen's Review would appear to have been a satirical magazine and two references have so far been encountered, from it's pages, which relate to the Primrose League. The above cartoon is an extract and dated 19th April 1884 and the catalogue of 'The Churchill Papers' gives reference to the 18th April 1885 issue of the St Stephen's Review published to commemorate 'Primrose Day' and dedicated to the Primrose League and includes cartoons and satirical pieces about Lord Randolph Churchill plus an item about Dames of the Primrose League, which mentions Lady Randolph Churchill. Some of the cartoons are annotated with notes about the identity of those portrayed.
